Mano has said the same basic things last week and the week before.  I'm willing to bet this streak continues next weekend
No, no, no.  I have been saying for 3 weeks that THIS was the game I expected the letdown!  There's a difference.  See, the 49ers game was a "big game", and the Browns are a lower tier team and the game is on the road...it fits the formula perfectly.

I did hint at the possibiity of a letdown after the Bengals game, but it wouldn't be hard to get back up for a 9-1 team coming into your house, so it never really fit the formula.

Anyway, in terms of my fellow fans, don't take it personal guys.  I'm in favor of believing they are just trash talking due to the upcoming matchups, I think they've been to every team's board we've played this season so it's hopefully not just random trash talk.
I have no issue with trash talk...in fact I am a regular participant...it would just be a little classier if they took it to their own thread.  This thread doesn't deserved to be dragged into that crap, much like the draft thread on the Steelers board.  There has to be SOME boundaries.

Really?  Could have sworn you have said the Ravens could drop this game or play sloppy each of the last three games.  I'm sure you've picked against them each week in Lyman's thread.
Either way, Let's go Ravens and Bengals

Well, of course they could have dropped either the game against the Bengals or the 49ers, or both!  Those are two pretty good football teams and there would be no shame in losing to either one.  I fully expected the Ravens to win against the Bengals, but I had hopes for the 49ers.  In hindsight, it was probably just too much to ask them to travel across the country on a short week and put together a winning effort.  Not that they would have won on a normal week, but I think it would have been much more competitive.

I'm sure you've picked against them each week in Lyman's thread.
Laughing  Sometimes my hatred gets the better of my judgment! Embarassed

The Ravens are a very good football team and SHOULD beat every team remaining on their schedule.  In saying that, they have shown the ability to lose to not just lesser opponents, because 90% of the league is a lesser opponent, but to the weakest of the weak when coming off of an emotional, hard fought win.  What's the reason for it?  I don't pretend to understand it, but you can't honestly tell me that you have supreme confidence in the Ravens' ability to go into Cleveland this weekend and come out with a win...

Of course, having said that, I'm sure I just invited a couple of less desirable Steelers fans to join the chorus next week! Yell

Would you take Andy Reid in Cleveland?  (Not with an offensive line coach as defensive coordinator. whats up with that?)

Say, how about Vince Vaughn Young as your QB in Cleveland?  He has been trained by the master WC offensive guru Andy Reid..

Call Andy's agent the day they decide to let him go.  If that is in a few weeks, then so be it.  If it is in the off-season, then press his saved speed dial number.  Andy Reid in one year cobined with Heckert could have this team playing competitively.  I would bet just about anything o nit.  I wonder what the line in Vegas is as to what team Reid will coach for next if let go in Philly.   It would be the ultimate coup if Cleveland could land a guy as established as Reid. I have afeeling he and Holmgren would be rather cozy.  Talk about bad timing.  Of course it's the Browns  bad luck he might be available AFTER the season the Browns hire a new head coach.

Did anyone esle hear Tony Rizzo ranting and raving like a lunatic the other day after news about Josh Cribb's interview came to press?  He basically called him evrything under the sun from a "me guy" to selfish to diva, etc.  He said he didn't care if Cribbs left tomorrow.  Said he wan't anywhere near the player he thought he was.  Told him to almost literally on the radio to ST"H"U when Josh voiced his frustration.

See, that is where me and Browns fans are at serious contentious odds.  Since when can't a guy who practices day in and day out for months say that his teammates aren't performing?  Since when have Cleveland media gotten so damn sensitive?  Who the hell wouldn't be frustrated as **** knowing that every year you are only capable of achieving five wins before you even put on your pads?

Since when in America is a professional athlete not allowed to voice his opinion?  And he had to subdue his rhetoric as you could hear in his voice he was ticked off beyond belief.  But that would have entailed a possible fine if he really said what he thought.  Give me a team with twenty-to Josh Cribbs and I guarantees you at least a .500 season.  Damn when did it become unfashionable to show heart and passion when addressing the Browns?  Until fans start expecting greater performance, nee demand it they will be swilling around in mediocrity for years.  Rizzo really rubbed me the wrong way with that tirade.  As if his opinion in any way shape or form is more valid or interesting in the slightest as opposed to a guy who actually PLAYS the game.

This guy has seriously let his so-called fame go to his head. This isn't the first time I have heard him call out players and put them in check as if he had a clue about leading professional football playerss.  I think it must have something to do with his "fringe benfits" at clubs and the easy women he hangs out in the nightlife that have somehow pumped up his ego.  I remember when that dude first started out in Cleveland.  He is off-the-charts lately.  He had zero attitude and was actually mild-mannered.  Hanging out with his friend (wait for the name drop - Bernie Kosar) has really given this dude a false sense of himself.  Josh Cribbs can play for my Browns any day.

Now there is two worthless Tony's running around the Cleveland landscape...Tony Rizzo and Tony Grossi are cut from the same cloth of bad "journalism/entertainment"

I admit I did not hear his rant, but I know of him well enough to understand why you would be upset.

Anyone that took Cribbs comments as a negative HAVE GIVEN UP ON THIS TEAM COMPLETELY!

I loved what he said and how he said it..He didn't degrade Cleveland, the Browns, or even the coaching staff(although he may have "eluded" to there being a problem in this category).

From what I hear, the team is practicing harder this week than they have all season...most importantly, Peyton Hillis SUPPOSEDLY looks like the guy we spotted playing last sesaon in an orange helmet.

Does it have anything to do with Cribbs? Eh, who knows, but to know that at 4-7 this team is practicing harder every week gives me a ray of hope to cling on to.
