I'm high on Fab Melo.  Look at Syracuse with him and look at them without him.  If he can learn some offensive moves who knows.

Sully is a solid pick, a one time top pick but now with a reported back issue.  Irish Luck?

Sully is polished on offensive play making, especially the hi low, which is of course the KG Rondo offense.  Thats an obvious direction for him.

Melo is a hi risk hi reward.  This is a classic Celtics move as the most defensive minded franchise.  But in addition to his shot blocking he is a fast, surprisingly fast, and we needed someone to run with Rondo.  He is a two year project, but no one is more physical and stronger above him.  A perfect project for KG to mold.

In Danny we trust.

Im content with the draft. I felt there was only one or two guards if available that were worth taking at 21 and 22 given we have Rondo and Bradley.

Frontcourt was obviously the biggest need with KG being 50/50 on returning/retiring and Bass possibly gone.

Sullinger may never be an All-Star but I think he can be a reliable role player on a contending team.

Melo just has to do the basics for a big man. Don't need anything exceptional from him.

Still a lot of money on the table in the next year or so. Team is in good shape.

Logic Man, I couldn't have said it any better.  All Melo has to do is grab the rebound, get it to Rondo, trail and get found for an easy two.  He will bring energy and defense.  Having these fellas almost guarantees Garnett will come back.  I still think we need to bring Stiemsma back aboard.  Bass will be welcome back if he takes a reasonable deal.  Things are looking good.  Sullinger will add rebounding and another guy that can face up and hit a jumpshot.  When Bass goes out, we won't skip a beat.  I like it.  We need to take care of these free agent matters so we can start meshing.

Garnett, Stiemsma/Melo (Duke it out for backup)
Bass, Sullinger/Johnson (JaJuan's got his work cut out for him)
Pierce, Green? (wishfully healthy)
Bradley, Allen? (hopefully willing) maybe Jamal Crawford or Mickael Pietrus
Rondo, Moore (we'll need to maybe look into bringing Keyon back)

With health we've got an opportunity to be right back in this thing.  Our young guys will get plenty minutes next season for sure.  By playoff time some of them will be able to contribute in a major way.  Word.

im telling you if green can come back healthy and Fab Melo turns into a solid role player the perkins trade will actually end up working out in the end.
Eric Gordon is staying in NO, id like to see a Jamal Crawford or a Lou Williams to join pietrus on the bench, im not to sold on dooling i think moore can be just as streaky of a 3point shooter.

Garnett/Stiemsma/Melo
Bass/Sullinger/JJ (if we cant keep bass id like to see us pickup a guy like kaman to move KG back to PF and have sully back him up)
Pierce/Green (if he can come back healthy and mesh with the team im just saying this could be deadly)
Bradley/? (i dont see ray coming back id like to see a lou williams or a jamal crawford in his place)
Rondo/Moore (i liked what i saw from moore's limited playing time in the bigs, that game against orlando was insane)

its true they dont know if KG will be back, garnett is set to give his choice of playing/retirement tomorrow. as for Brandon Bass? he was set to get 4.5 million but he turned down his player option cause he thinks hes worth far more then that. to put this in perspective perkins makes about 10-12 million. bass might be better in streaks on offense but his lack of D and rebounding really make me wonder if he's worth more then ... 7 million?

its a fact that danny will be signing at least 1 FA this offseason so making these rosters are all hypothetical... i mean we all thought Royce White was coming to boston...

I do not see Sullinger or Melo starting next year, I do see them as contributors. Sullinger is more NBA ready than Melo, but Melo can provide a shot blocker and rebounder. I only pray that KG comes back and helps to mold these 2 players. If they are willing to learn I see this draft as being very good. Sullinger I think could be the steal of the draft.

I'm hearing it'll be Ray Allen back in green with either OJ Mayo or Jason Terry.  Has anybody heard about what we're gonna do with Brandon Bass/Greg Stiemsma?  Word.

Let's see what RayDay is gonna do.  I think it'll be interesting.  I'm noticing a slight trend of Danny drafting teammates.  He went with the Boilermaker boys last year and the Orangemen this year.  I wonder who gets dealt/assigned to the D-League?  Word.

Just look at the rotations.

Starting Lineup:

Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo - We all know the starters know how to win games.  Rondo will be a legitimate MVP candidate in 12/13.  Bass will take another step.  Pierce and Allen have all Summer to heal.  Garnett has a fresh contract and he doesn't take nights off.

Backups:

Greg Stiemsma, Jared Sullinger, Jeff Green, Avery Bradley - Stiemsma has a Summer to learn the system a bit more.  He's a primetime defender.  Sullinger will challenge Bass for minutes with his already polished offsensive skills.  He and Bass will make one helluva workhorse 1-2 punch at power forward.  Jeff Green will be able to come in and give Paul Pierce QUALITY rest.  I predict he'll be a possible 6th Man candidate.  Avery Bradley will be able to get starter's minutes off the bench.  He'll get around 30 minutes a game.  Rondo will get about 38.  Ray Allen will get the other 28.  They are going to make a great 3 man backcourt next season.

Practice Players:

Fab Melo, JaJuan Johnson, Kris Joseph, Etwan Moore - Don't be surprised if Fab gets tick in Doc's system.  If he can defend the paint and run the floor he'll give Stiemsma all the competition he can handle for backup minutes.  I suspect Etwan will end up getting early season minutes while Bradley continues to heal.  Johnson and Joseph are good insurance at the forward spots.  AND we'll probably end up with another Keyon Dooling type.

This is all if we don't end up getting OJ Mayo or Jason Terry.

Next season the Celtics will compete for another championship.  The locker room has NO issues.  Doc Rivers has a TOP NOTCH system.  I predict another big year for the Celtics.  Look how young we've gotten.  We've got a perfect balance of veterans and youngsters on this squad.  Everybody will know their role and the efficiencies we'll get from synergy will push us over the top.  WATCH.  Don't doubt C-Rock!

One more thing, getting Jeff Green back allows us to go small or BIG.  He can play either forward position.  Doc Rivers will have the luxury of moving Paul Pierce over to the shooting guard position at times so he can take advantage of smaller players and get us easy baskets and trips to the line.  Green stretches defenses.  Its going to be dangerous for teams next year.

B-U-T-FUL!!!!

Let's Go!!!

Starters:

Kevin Garnett - Re-upped for 2 or 3 years but at least long enough to give our rookies the best tutelage money can buy.
Brandon Bass - If we can get Bass back in green and white it will be terrific.  He gives us decent scoring, rebounding and D.
Paul Pierce - The Truth has to be excited about getting his knee healthy and getting another shot at a title.
Ray Allen - I doubt RayDay loses his starting job if he's healthy.  Stay with us, Ray!
Rajon Rondo - MVP candidate that should again lead the league in assists and triple-doubles.

Bench:

Greg Stiemsma and Fab Melo - Should make a nice defending/rebounding tandem with 12 fouls to spare.
Jared Sullinger and JaJuan Johnson - Will benefit from Kevin Garnett and give us options after Bass.
Jeff Green and Kris Joseph - This will be a big key to whether or not we can make another run.  Green gives us offense and versatility.
Jason Terry, Avery Bradley, Etwaun Moore and Mickael Pietrus - If we can secure these guys we will be SOLID.

This is the final roster I hope we end up with.  I don't see any reason why this team wouldn't contend for a title.  All we need is a little health and we'll be right back in it.  YES!!!

"Everything is falling into place.  A little move here, a move there and we're ready to rock and roll!" - Red (paraphrase).  Ray Allen really ought to do just like you say, LMan - demand Miami match Boston's offer.  If he leaves for Miami he is just another mercenary.  Doc Rivers must be like a little kid in a candy store right now.  We are definitely gearing up for a title.  After Ray signs we'll have the perfect mix of veteran leadership and youthful exuberance.

KG, Truth, RayDay and Jet form the core veteran leadership.

Rondo, Bass, Green, Bradley, Steamer, Fab, Sully, JJ, Etwaun and Kris are the horses.

At this point, Mickael Pietrus would just be the icing on the cake.  He would give us a 15th member of the roster.

I like what I'm seeing and I can't wait to see what we look like after a full training camp and preseason schedule under our belts.

We have shooting, rebounding, ball pressure, passing, fouls, experience, heart, great management, terrific ownership and Doc Rivers.  Not to mention the greatest fanbase in pro sports.  Wow.

I read an article that said Jeff Green is not in game shape but that after the surgery to repair his aorta he is nearly bionic.  He is @ 4% body fat.  This guy is young, athletic and he will stretch the defense.  He is just what we need off the bench.  I am curious to see what we're going to do with Big Steamer.  All I've read is that he dropped off the US Select team.  I am confident at the end of the day that Ray will come back to Boston.  Miami can't offer him as much money and it would be equivalent to being a mercenary if he left.  The best players in history wanted to BEAT the best not JOIN them.  Ray needs to consider his legacy.  Plus, Danny is willing to throw in either a no-trade clause or a trade kicker.  With KG, Terry, Green, Bass and everybody else on board, Ray needs to do the right thing and stay home in Boston.  Allen HAS to realize he isn't a spring chicken anymore.  Word.
