Feable n. - aka N Y Rangers, an NHL team that is based, solidly and historically for decades, in NYC. also one of the top money making teams in the league since forever. a franchise that has all the money in the world to spend, BUT...has only produced 1 winner since 1940 (which many call the FLUKE OF 94).

The Islanders will always have the Dynasty. aka Potvins Cups. 4 in a row and a 5th straight Cup appearance. 19 Playoff series wins in a row. well worth hard times for 20 years! You can't even fathom a Dynasty, being a Rag fan. you have a FLUKE. might as well just go fishing!

What the Rangers have is 1 (FLUKE) since 1940.

I wouldnt settle for anymore.

The JOKE is on YOU! which is so funny cause YOU are a JOKE!

LMFAO****!!!!!!

wayyyy too easy!

NHL's toughest players of all-time. Top 100

#14. Clark Gillies

______________________

Something we will probably  agree with Ted,  Gillies was a top 3 power foward of all time  and was the main reason Mike Bossy was not cheap shotted out of the league..

Islanders Select Six Defensemen on Day Two of NHL Draft

Islanders tab defensemen with all seven picks in 2012 Draft

Saturday, 06.23.2012 / 3:33 PM / News New York Islanders

The New York Islanders selected six players on the second day of the 2012 National Hockey League Draft at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The cub chose defensemen with all six picks, completing a draft that saw the Islanders choose seven defensemen with the seven picks.

Ville Pokka (34th overall) and Adam Pelech (65th overall) were selected in the second and third rounds, respectively. Loic Leduc (103rd overall) was chosen in the fourth round, followed by Doyle Somerby (125th overall) in the fifth and Jesse Graham (155th overall) in the sixth. The final Islanders pick of 2012 was Jake Bischoff (185th overall) in the seventh round.

Pokka, the fourth player selected on day two, played in 35 games last season as a 17-year-old in Finland’s SM-liiga with Karpat, recording three assists. The 5’11, 205-pound defenseman added three more assists in nine playoff games. A native of Tornio, FIN, Pokka represented his country last season at both the Under-18 and Under-20 World Championships, totaling 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 14 games.

Pelech, the Islanders’ third round selection, recorded 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 44 games last season during his second Ontario Hockey League campaign with the Erie Otters. A 6’2, 194-pound defenseman from Toronto, ON, Pelech was an assistant captain on Canada’s bronze-medal winning under-18 World Championships team. Pelech also won the OHL Scholastic Player of the Year Trophy and the OHL Top Academic High School Player “Ivan Tennant Award” last season.

Leduc, the Islanders’ fourth-round pick from Chateauguay, PQ, scored 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and accumulated 99 penalty minutes in 65 games last year, during his second campaign with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 6’5, 194-pound blueliner added an assist in four playoff games last season.

Somerby, tabbed by the Islanders in the fifth round, scored 16 points (one goal, 15 assists) in 31 games of High School hockey last season at Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire. The 6’4, 232-pound defenseman from Marblehead, MA, will attend Boston University in the fall.

Graham, a sixth round pick, scored 41 points (four goals, 37 assists) in 68 games last season during his second OHL campaign with the Niagara Icedogs. The 5’11, 170-pound defenseman from Toronto, ON, added 10 points (one goal, nine assists) in 19 playoff games as Niagara advanced to the OHL Championship. He also added six points (one goal, five assists) with Team Ontario at the Under-17 World Hockey Challenge.

Bischoff, the Islanders final selection in the 2012 Draft, is a seventh round selection who scored 38 points (11 goals, 27 assists) in 24 games with Grand Rapids High School in Minnesota. The 5’11, 178-pound defenseman from Grand Rapids, MN, also appeared in 10 games in the United States Hockey League last season with the Omaha Lancers.

.....Building through the Draft. Garth Snow is staying on the course. Griffin Reinhart is going to be a blue chipper!

Let's go Islanders!!!

From NHL.com:

Report: Isles offered all picks to Jackets for No. 2

How badly did New York Islanders general manager Garth Snow want to move up two spots in this year's NHL Draft? Enough to give up all of his team's picks, according to a report.

Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson selected defenseman Ryan Murray with the second pick Friday night in Pittsburgh, but Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reported Monday that the Jackets could've dropped to the No. 4 spot held by the Islanders -- and added six other picks -- if the deal was completed.

The Islanders reportedly offered the Blue Jackets picks Nos. 4, 34, 65, 103, 125, 155 and 185 for just the No. 2 pick. That would have given the Jackets a total of 12 picks -- Nos. 4, 31, 34, 62, 65, 95, 103, 125, 152, 155, 182 and 185.

Instead, the Jackets took Murray and the Islanders chose defenseman Griffin Reinhart with the fourth pick. The Islanders also used their final six picks on blueliners.

Really???????????

That would have been crazy and RIDICULOUS for Ryan Murray? regardless the right pick was picked and the cupboards loaded up!

It was just an OFFER. A starting point, if Columbus took the bait, for negotiations. Thats how I see it anyway. And Murray, they say, is NHL-ready.
