Prayers

April 25, 2012 7:02 pm

First time here guys, just found it.  But hey, some praise for some wonderful things happening in the family's life now, after a few years of some tough times.  Patience, prayer and continue to do the right things , and you will be taken care of by the man!  On his time not yours.

Gary, Paula and all of you are being prayed over. Wish you the best and to him be the glory.

Sis, I am sorry that mom is in such a consistent struggle of sorts. I pray for her and you too. Listened to a CD recently that drew me, through praise, into a state of peace in a difficult time. Great CD ;) Praise draws us near ...

Hogfan, I will be praying for your friend and for opportunity for the Lord. Bless you brother!

WT ... graet posts!

Jack, great to see you friend!

Prayers

April 25, 2012 8:45 pm

Greetings in the Lord to all of you!  Welcome to the new people, I pray you feel at home here!

JT, praying for your friend.  I know what prolonged health problems can do to wear you out, but as WT said in his post (my fav scripture BTW, WildTurkey!), "be at peace in God" for anxiety is not productive, but prayer and supplication is.  Continue to speak the truth in love to your friend; it is our job to sew the seeds, but NOT to dig them up to see if they have roots yet!!!  We sew, others reap, but God provides the increase.  "He will add to His church each day such as should be saved."  He's never turned anyone away.  I can't leave the house to attend church anymore, but my home church in Philly is online now, teaching the entire Bible verse by verse so she can get audio of any part or get audio and video of each Sunday's service at www.ccphilly.org and choosing "Current Teachings" or "Verse by Verse."  Maybe that helps; it works for me!

Gary, prayers continue for Paula and for all your family.  Jack, glad to see you and pray you are doing better!  Tony, I know there is some music that has gotten me through the last 14 challenging months; I sing the worship songs in my head all the way to and from Mom's doctors.  We are still waiting to hear from the team of surgeons, but she had a great day today, praise God!

Armyman, prayers are with you, God knows you needs, we just love you!

Hop, Hawg, Dauber, and Vehemon, God bless you for your support and caring (and I may have worked for some of your challenging bosses, Vehemon!  Pray for them and keep on going!).

Our neighbor Jake is home from the hospital; he has hospice and I think they have discontinued his cancer treatments.  The family is with Jake and his wife Lois--wonderful Christian senior citizens.  I know how stressed Lois is and that Jake seems to be failing fast so please keep them in prayer.

Pray for the persecuted church worldwide.  Keep our children in prayer as well--the missing, the abused, the ill, all of them as impressionable and innocent.  I lift all the saints to the feet of our loving Father daily.  Lord, let us be attuned to Your wisdom for us and make us effective servants, in Jesus' name and to Your glory! Amen!

Be God's!

Prayers

April 26, 2012 9:08 pm

And yep, it's me again!  I went to have my eyes checked today to get new glasses after putting it off for 2 years to take care of Mom.  The doctor stopped the usual eye test (where you get to guess at the letters on the screen) after a few lines on each eye and ordered more tests for next week.  He thinks there is a tumor behind the eye effecting my vision; he'll be testing my field of vision (which I know already has been limited).  If that proves true, an MRI will follow.  The eyes themselves are healthy except the left eye cataract has grown but not enough for Medicare to pay for the surgery so that gets checked again in six months.  The right eye cataract isn't growing that much yet.  But he thinks something behind the eye is interfering with my vision so I'm off to see the doctor for more tests next week.  It never seems to stop here! lol  I shook my head really fast and nothing rattled to prove to him there was no tumor in there, but he didn't buy it! hehe  Oh well, I'll look cool bald, I have a nice collection of scarves!  It's the fourth doctor to think I have a brain tumor and they've all been wrong; fibromyalgia mimics that very well so I'm not worried, but I would appreciate the prayers!  And God bless my good friend Sandy for taking me to all my doctor appointments for the last ten years!  She is a blessing for sure!

Hugs to you all!

Prayers

April 28, 2012 2:29 pm

Gary, wonderful news that it went well!  Since those can cause pain, thank you Lord for blessing that.  Continuing to pray for her health, brother.  Thank you very much for the update.

Praying for everyone and have a blessed weekend!

This is more of a praise than a prayer request, but also that too.  I am blessed to have a family who's very close.  One of my cousin's, her husband's grandfather passed away during the night in his sleep.  He went very peacefully at 101 years of age.  It was a blessing that he went to be with our Savior that way.  I've already been in touch with the cousin's husband (Mark) and his mother.  They both seem to be (along with everyone else) very at peace, because God blessed him by the way He brought him home... not suffering any illness first.  He was a great man and a strong Christian... I feel extremely blessed to have known him.  It's beyond amazing knowing that yesterday at this time, he was an elderly man on this earth, and now he is whole, face to face with our Savior and Lord, praising Him!  I know (just like with any death) there will be hard times for the family, because they will miss him.  I appreciate your prayers for them, that God comforts them during those hard times - I know they appreciate them too!

Take care, and may God continue to richly bless us all!

Prayers

April 28, 2012 3:29 pm

I started my second job last night and I am doing the best I can to support my family. A man's got to do what a man's got to do. Also, I am having some problems with a person at my church. Please pray for both of us that God will help us to reconcile our differences.

Gary, wonderful news that it went well!
I will second that. Congratulations. Hang in there, bro.

Prayers

April 28, 2012 4:31 pm

"Against You and You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight: that You might be justified when You speak, and be clear when You judge."
Psalm 51:4

Sin is not merely doing what is wrong, but doing what is wrong in the sight of the Lord. God has offered us a direction for living full and happy lives. Our being disobedient to those instructions doesn't hurt God, it hurts us. God is saddened by our refusal to be obedient, but He is always willing to hear our petition for forgiveness, and He will show us His mercy. When we sin, it is a private matter between God and ourselves. Take your sins before God, repent of each one, and glory in the grace of God, by which we receive full pardon of all we do wrong.  If you have wronged another, offer to make it right whenever possible for repentance means to turn away from our sin and toward God's direction for our lives.

Forgive me, Lord. Make a new creation out of this old soul. Convict me of my wrongs for my learning, and change my heart, O God.  Prepare me for the Kingdom to come each day of my life. Amen.

April 28, 2012 4:43 pm

Gary, great to hear that your wife did well with the procedure.  Prayers continue for her as always.

JT, my sympathies on the passing of your beloved family member but praise God for his life as a role model and that he went peacefully, and mostly that he is in the arms of our Lord and you will see him again!  We do not grieve like those who do not have a future and a hope.

Armyman, prayers continue for you and your family as well, as you start your second job and as you face a problem with a fellow church member.  If the 12 men who were with Jesus daily had their differences, how much more can we expect to find disagreements with our brothers and sisters in Christ?  May God guide you and give you peace, dear brother.

Be God's!
