LSU’s three suspended players are expected to be reinstated on Tuesday CBSSports.com has learned.

Defensive backs Tyrann Mathieu, Tharold Simon as well as running back Spencer Ware were suspended for Saturday’s Auburn game following reported failed drug tests. Asked following the game if the players would return for the Alabama game on Nov. 5, coach Les Miles said, “I probably know the answer to that but I don’t want to talk about it.”

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported last week that the players would be suspended only one game.  The three were not around the team for LSU’s 45-10 win over Auburn.

At the time of his suspension, Mathieu was considered a Heisman and All-American candidate. Ware was the team’s leading rusher. LSU will now have 11 days to prepare at full strength for Alabama. The game marks the between 1-2 teams in the AP poll in five years.

skreffty, I have to give you credit for audacity (you must be an Obama guy).  Think about it...an LSU fan actually trashtalking another school about violations and allegations and infractions at this particular time in LSU's history?  Impressive.

ok Skreffty, since you are apparently kin to the Never to yield foundation and the propoganda machine. put up or shut up.  Here's my source, where's yours?

You are right that Auburn has more major violations (9) than Alabama who "only", snicker, has 5a  Alabama has three since 1987 (your mythical beginning year.

Apparently, your queasiness is clouding your knowledge.  Major Leagues suspending players are governing bodies and they are particularly concerned about perfomance enhancing drugs and illegal street drugs.  Synthetic marijuana is not illegal, not a street drug and not a performance enhancing drug.  If a major league team had the choice (as the University does in this case) and there was NO violation of the governing body's rules, I doubt there would be ANY suspension.  Miles's choice of imposing the suspension was more than sufficient.   Do you really believe that these are the first guys to use synthetic pot? No other known suspensions have made the news.

If Major Leaguers are suspended 40 or 50 games for drug use I wonder why LSU or universities in general believe a one game suspension is sufficient?  What was the drug, Mylanta?  It is giving me a queasiness in my intestines.

I'm not sure what the big issue is about reqruiting more than 85 players per year.  A look at the SEC West Rosters has LSU at 108, Alabama at 125, Arkansas at 142, Auburn at 114, Ole Miss at 132 and Miss. State at 107.  It looks like these reqruits want to go to those schools with the knowledge some will be walk-ons.  Does anyone remember that Nebraska dressed out over 170 players for every home game over a period of years.

Secondly, a school can't simply stop reqruiting at 85 because there will be changes in committments up until signing day.

if this is your source, then much like some of the MNCs you need to put an * beside it as 1987 is not the birth of the NCAA or its infraction counting.

Bet the farm these three will be cleared to play against Bama. Only death or incarceration would disqualify LSU significant players in important games. Just like Louisiana politics, LSU football knows no rational limits.
